Kampenhout SK was founded in 1938 with Matricule 2615. However, it would take the yellow and blue more than 50 years to promote to the National Divisions.

The 90’s were the success years for the club. In the cup they managed to stunt every now and then, in 90/91 for example as a 2nd Provincial Divisionist 2nd National Divisionist Harelbeke was eliminated. In the competition, the club managed to promote to the Fourth National Division in 1992 through the playoffs. Kampenhout stayed there for three seasons before relegating again in 1995. The same trick was repeated in 2004. The club promoted this time as champion of the 1st Provincial Division Brabant but had to take another step back after three seasons. In 2011 they again, and briefly, made the leap to the Fourth National Division but the “number 1 of the chicory region” could only stay there for two seasons.

On 22 January 2017, the merger of SK Kampenhout and neighbouring SK Kampelaar was announced and the new club, Sportkring Kampenhout, will be present in the Third Amateur Division as Kampenhout captured the title.

The stadium “De Zeype” is part of the municipal sports complex “De Zeype”. It has 238 covered seats and an additional 2,250 seats of which 2,000 are covered.
