Club: FC Ajax Lasnamäe
Capacity: +/- 1.000
Nothing illustrates the marginal status of Estonian club football better than the “Stadium” of the Top Division Club (2011 season) FC Ajax Lasnamäe.
Founded in 1993 in the North East of Tallinn the club recruits mainly among young people of the strongly represented Russian community in the District of Lasnamäe.
The accommodations of the club in the middle of a forest of Communist apartment blocks is hardly worth the name “stadion”. Flanked by some artificial turf pitches is a natural grass pitch on which the first team plays its home games in the Meistriliiga. Three containers serves as dressing rooms and clubhouse and the small wooden stand looks like something the local carpenter made out of leftover wood.
